We no longer offer the facedown recovery mat or tabletop support system due to comfort and safety concerns—such as breathing issues, back strain, and poor mirror positioning. Our Premium facedown/vitrectomy equipment offers better support, ease of use, and overall recovery comfort.
We no longer offer the facedown recovery mat or tabletop support system due to comfort and safety concerns—such as breathing issues, back strain, and poor mirror positioning. Our Premium facedown/vitrectomy equipment offers better support, ease of use, and overall recovery comfort. We no longer carry them for the following reasons:
Facedown Recovery Mat to lay on top of a bed,
- Brain (Mental Health) - Because your face is just inches from the mattress you have no opportunity to watch TV or interact others with use of the facedown recovery mirror
- Breathing - Complaints were made about the inability to breathe because your face is inches from the mattress.
- Back - Laying on your own mattress without proper support is very difficult even with pillows propped under the hips.
NOTE: There are reasons we replace other company's equipment.
Table Top Support System
- Back - Unlike our Premium Recovery Chairs it is very difficult to take excess pressure off the lower back and shoulders.
- Bed - Some people have used the system to slip under their mattress for sleeping. Our observation: when a mattress is greater than 9 inches it is very difficult to get the head and shoulders at the correct angle.
- Mirror - We found unless you had the proper height of table and the chair, the mirror was nearly impossible to fit.
