At Retina Recovery Inc., we prioritize your recovery over repeat business. That's why we dedicate 45-60 minutes during our visit to set up your equipment and guide you through best practices for optimizing your facedown recovery.
During this time, we’ll help you find the ideal location for your equipment, assist with moving furniture, and explain how to get comfortable and effectively use the facedown mirror. Many of our clients express that they feel significantly more confident about their recovery after our thorough explanations and personalized attention.
We take the time you need because this is one of the most rewarding aspects of our work—getting to know you and ensuring you’re well-prepared for surgery to maximize your recovery.
Steve here from Retina Recovery. Let me talk about our deliveries, setups, and pickups.
Our deliveries are personalized. In other words, we’re in your home for 45 minutes to an hour, taking the time to understand your specific needs — not someone else’s, and not the person before you.
We want you to maximize your result, just as I was able to maximize my own recovery after a retinal detachment in 2014.
Thank you for allowing us to be part of your facedown recovery journey.

We are a home-based, family-run business, so we want to be available and prepared when you arrive.
Everyone has their own preferences for equipment setup, and based on our experience since 2015, we’ve identified some common themes.
When clients have a single piece of equipment, it’s typically set up in a living room or family room about 90% of the time. This allows you to be around others and enjoy access to a TV, making it easier to share moments watching movies, sports, and shows together, even during your recovery.
For those with two pieces of equipment, we see a 50/50 split in preferences. Some clients choose to place the facedown recovery bed in a bedroom and the chair in a larger living space, while others prefer to keep both pieces in the same room. Personally, I recommend having them in the same room for easier position changes, even during the night.
Regardless of your setup, it’s crucial to ensure easy access to a washroom and to minimize the number of stairs you need to navigate. We want to prioritize your safety and convenience, as your balance may be compromised during recovery. Your well-being is our top priority!
We offer PREMIUM Vitrectomy Recovery Equipment to help you MANAGE your recovery, NOT Endure your recovery
“Retina Recovery/Steve was a tremendous resource to find when we were told a face-down recovery was in our immediate future. With something so different and outside the norm it was extremely helpful to have access to the material, information and advice Steve provided. Based on his personal experience and many years helping people through retina recoveries, it answered many questions, helped us to prepare and made us feel the coming period being facedown was manageable. We rented both the bed and the chair. The equipment was first class (it looked to be new or very well-maintained) and we appreciated the coaching provided at delivery. While it turned out I did not need a period of recovery facedown, the ongoing support post-op was also appreciated. We interacted with Steve and Jesse through our rental experience. Both are exceptional individuals to work/talk with, demonstrating care and understanding and delivering a superior experience. If you are facing a face-down recovery we would highly recommend Retina Recovery - they are great to work with!”
“There is one word to describe Steve, his business and his level of support - Outstanding! Even though it was a holiday, he delivered and set up the needed equipment for my husband's recovery. Steve is a wealth of knowledge, and he readily shares his tips and suggestions. He understands both the patient's and caregivers' needs and is ready, willing, and able to provide support. I don't think we could have made it through this unexpected journey without him. He stands above the crowd, and I highly recommend him and his services”
