Now that you or a loved one has come to the other side of eye surgery you may be left wondering what is next. If you have not yet had cataract surgery, you are probably thinking about it now.
Timeline and Tips:
- Surgery generally takes places 6-9 months after your vitrectomy date.
- Your surgeon’s office will refer you to a cataract specialist.
- A laser measurement of the eye will be recommended and will cost between $200-$300.
- An option is normally given for upgrading your lens. In 2016, the cost was $75, paid directly to the Hamilton Regional Eye Insitute.
- Please, please, please don’t push yourself after your recovery. Allow yourself time to heal.
- *** ALWAYS follow your Surgeon’s protocol.
