Life still goes on while you recovery from retinal surgery.  We were honoured to have so many people fill in the gaps that I normally would have filled.  We definitely needed that since the bathroom reno I started, I couldn't finish. (Steve)

When this whole detached retina journey began we were smack dab in the middle of a bathroom renovation. I don't mean a repaint - I mean a demo kind of reno. Thankfully the bathtub was in and the tiling was complete - no more showering at neighbours and friends! But there was still a LONG way to go.....

There are times when the body of Christ is a glowing example of the way the church is to work. In my mind, this was one of them. We had so many use their God-given gifts to come complete our bathroom. My father in law grouted the floor. Our friend, Drew of Neven Custom Trim, came and put up all the wainscotting and trim as well as installed the cabinet. Tom came and hooked up the plumbing to the sink and installed our toilet. And John, who had already given us MANY hours helping tile our bathtub, returned to help me with all the final touches - light, mirror, towel racks, etc.

Today, as I did the final paint touch ups to officially complete this project, I was once again so deeply grateful for all those who stepped up in the midst of our craziness to complete this reno. I will not look at this bathroom without thinking of all the amazing hands and people who blessed us beyond belief by giving of their time and expertise.

We love the way the bathroom turned out. The bit of bling in my light, my whimsical hand towel holder, the curved shower rod that gives us so much elbow room, the cabinet that so neatly hides all the clutter bathrooms collect. More than that, we love that it was built by people who tangibly showed their love to us in the midst of our crisis - people who for some reason love us! And we do feel loved! For that, we can never truly say 'thank you' enough!

Wish I had time for a bath right now....

For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. Romans 12:4-8
